Corporate mindfulness + meditation classes for stress reduction, productivity + conflict resolution
The World Health Organization estimates that stress costs American businesses $300 billion a year. Every dollar spent on wellness saves $7-$8 down the line in health care costs. A study done by the World Economic Forum in conjunction with Right Management found that when health and well-being are promoted at work, employees are eight times more likely to be engaged and organizations are three times more likely to be productive. Stress and anxiety are understandable results of our low touch/high tech society. One way to address these issues is through mindfulness.
Kandace Simmons is a spiritual strategist and a trained and ordained interfaith minister who has been meditating for nearly 20 years. As the former president of a multi-million dollar building design firm, she has experienced the stresses of running a business and changed her life through meditation and mindfulness practices.
Science has now confirmed what the ancients knew. Meditation, which is rooted in spiritual practices, yields numerous physical, emotional, and psychological benefits. For example, meditation improves brain function, leads to better decision-making, reduces stress, and improves self-esteem.
Part of the challenge that many people have with establishing a daily meditation practice is a false belief about “getting it right.” She debunks notions about the “correct” position or amount of time for meditation and teaches practical yet profound ways to reach inner stillness. Kandace meets with up to 30 employees at your site, and participants are given an array of practices than can be performed in anywhere from 1 to 20 minutes. It is up to each participant to decide what's best for him or her.
Kandace teaches a series of three classes to be held monthly and repeated twice over a six-month period. Each 60-minute class consists of discussion, experiential exercises, guided meditation, and the sacred sounds of antique Himalayan singing bowls prior to a period of silence. Participants will be supported in making small steps towards bringing mindfulness into all areas of their lives. All classes are custom designed to meet the needs of the company and participants. Learning mindfulness is a cost effective method for your employees to improve and maintain their health while working smarter and more harmoniously.
